Grown for everyday cooking

L. levis (giant panus) is a big, pale wood mushroom. Fuzzy when young, meaty in the pan. You grow it with an X-cut, pick it, and cook it.

A ready-to-grow block on organic hardwood, made and checked in Carthage. Same X-cut as the oysters. A larger cap than blue oyster.

No pins, no fruit, or contamination in 30 days — replacement or refund.

Why people cook L. levis

What it can add

A larger cooking mushroom you slice and sear. Protein, fiber, and a cap that fills the pan. Grow it, pick it, cook it through.

Grow it yourself

Organic hardwood, checked in Carthage. X-cut, spray, harvest.

How to use it

Cook fully. Not a tea mushroom.

As food

A large pale cap you slice and sear. Kitchen food: protein, fiber, and a mushroom that fills a pan. Cook it through. Not a tea mushroom.

What you are actually growing

If the bag says L. levis, treat it like an oyster kit. The caps can get large. Pick before they dry at the edges.

Same X-cut as Trail of Tears.

How to fruit this block

1

Unbox the same day

Room out of hot sun. Read the name on the bag.

2

Cut an X on the side

2–3 inch X. Leave the rest of the bag on.

3

Mist the cut

Tap water, twice a day, damp not dripping.

4

Harvest the cluster

Twist at the base when caps flatten but rims still curve in. Cook fully.

Harvest

Still pale, still a little fuzzy is fine. Dry, yellow edges means you waited.

After the last flush

Rest 7–10 days, soak 2–4 hours, fruit again.

In the kitchen

Slice thick. Hard sear. Butter, salt, lemon.

A first recipe

L. levis steaks

Thick slices, scored, browned both sides. Butter, garlic, lemon.

If something looks wrong

Fuzzy white, no mushrooms yet

Healthy mycelium. Keep misting.

Pins stall or turn crispy

Too dry. Mist more, or loosely tent with air holes.

Green, black, or sour mold

Photograph it. Email Team@harmonixhome.com within 30 days.
